I am living in Japan, the typhoon isn't as bad as this article makes it seem. Watching on TV, sure, there are many floods and all that. But one it passes it'll all be fine. It even already stopped raining and the winds aren't blowing as hard anymore where I am. Is that some blue I see in the sky? Yep. All is good

The unity provided after the 9/11 attacks was incredibly beneficial to the United States.

Milking out as long as possible is a good business tactic on America's part in this case. No one gives a shit about natural disasters in Japan, so they go on with life quickly and get their asses in gear because they can't promote general welfare by squeezing every drop of benefit out of a tragedy like the United States can.
