Tyranitar is based off Godzilla that's based off the classical and anatomically incorrect interpretation of the tyrannosaurus rex. So yeah they are both tyrannosaurus, Tyranitar is the classical, monster-like one that you can see in those old black and white movies and Tyrunt is the historically correct version.

Incredibly excited. Probably my favorite revealed pokemon so far. I can only imagine the coverage and possible new moves his unique ability will provide him with. New dragon or rock type biting move, maybe? The evolution is likely going to be outstanding.

To be even usable it needs great attack and a combination of at least 2 of the following; Explosion/Selfdestruct, Fake Out, Extremespeed.

the problem is it'll be a physical sweeper, so all it really benefits is stone edge. maybe iron tail or cross chop but those are a stretch (and iron tail isn't exactly useful, even with the offensive boost and STAB). it gets 100% status moves like toxic, hypnosis or will-o-wisp, so that's good if it's more defensive.
it would be much better as a special sweeper since a lot of ghost-types get access to thunder and focus blast.
