ITT: Paralell-universe versions of Pokemon

Basically, unofficial shit that looks like an actual Pokemon, but isn't. Bonus points if said Fakemon was made before the actual Pokemon was revealed.

This was a very bad legendary Fakemon duo made by some guy. The guy on the right kinda resembles Yveltal. I call him "Shittyveltal".

On that note, fake versions of Groudon and Kyogre were featured on Gameshark cases, along with fake versions of characters such as Bowser. The reason for this was to avoid lawsuits. The fake versions looked much less threatening, appearing more like a common fish and a common lizard.

After the reveal of the Gen 3 starters, people drew sketches of what they thought their evolutions would look like. Someone drew a fake of Torchic's second stage, which is, of course, pic related. I find it interesting how bloody close it ended up being to the official Combusken.

The crocodile is just a generic crocodile, the Zoroark one just looks like the common werewolf design, the Musharna one is only similar because of the smoke color, the bugs aren't even close, ditto for the Boldore wannabe, Not-Swanna is a totally different animal and color scheme, and the frog also doesn't even come close.

Fake Gen 4 starters. While the Bird and the Bug aren't remotely similar to any Pokemon we know of (Pidove and Heracross come the closest, and they're still leagues apart), not only did the Fire Monkey come to see the light of day, but it actually ended up being Gen 4's fire starter.

To go along with all the buzz surrounding Lucario, someone made a pre-evolution. This instance i find to be less surprising, as its resemblance to Riolu is merely based on a common similarity to Lucario's appearance, but I still find it a bit interesting.

No, we had seen Almomola's and Cofagrigus's backsprites and names by that point. That's why even the names match (mamanbou and desukaan) and why the designs are "eerily" similar, because we had seen part of them.

Wow, looking at this thread gave me memories. pre-B/W speculation nostalgia threads are pretty common, but pre-D/P shit is pretty rare.

This was "leaked" as a new forme for Shaymin. The hype for it didn't last though, and people stopped caring...until a few months later they actually did announce a new forme for Shaymin.

Also, related: a lot of people thought that Shaymin-S's typing was going to be Grass/Ice, due to the japanese title of its debut movie being "Giratina and the Icy Sky Warrior" or something like that.
