So, supposedly, Xerneas and Yveltal may represent life and death, respectively. What would we get as our Z legendary? Some kind of "limbo" Pokemon? What do you think, /vp/?

To be clear when we say "Z" Legendary we just mean the Kyurem to Xerneas and Yveltal right and not a "Z" version mascot right? I'd be really disappointed if they went back to the old system after BW2.

Instead of life and death, think creation and destruction. The thing between them in Hindu mythology is preservation.
Whereas Xerneas is equivalent to Brahma and Yveltal is equivalent to Shiva, Z-Warrior is equivalent to Vishnu.

Although they might as well drop the life/death theme and go with a Nordic mythology one if those leaks are true with a serpent-like Nidhoggr-pokemen

Rebirth angle is out since that's Ho oh's thing already. Snake I could buy because it fits in to the norse thing and also can represent eternity/infinity in the form of ouroboros. Something that exists outside of the cycle of life and death.
