What do you guys think about these pokemon games having 3D just in some parts? like having 3D in battles and cinematics but not in the overworld.

OP is talking about stereoscopic 3D i.e. actually seeing depth. The entire game and overworld is 3D as in 3D models not top down 2D sprites. But the overworld is not stereoscopic apparently, only battles are.

Its not a fake rumor. I played the demo. It is a bug though. Game was in full 3d, then I turned it off and then back on again and only the battles were in 3d, probably something just wrong with the demo.

3D LED on = you can use the 3d depth slider
no 3D LED = 3d depth slider is useless because it isn't 3d enabled

Pokemon X & Y were originally going to be fully 3D games. Nintendo at the last second though asked Gamefreak to make it mostly 2D so that people wouldn't feel like they were missing out on much and would buy the 2DS. All the old trailers called the game a 3D game. Now it's a 2D game with 3D elements. All so 6 year olds would beg their moms to buy them a 2DS.

Of course Z will be fully 3D.

Why the fuck would anyone want to keep 3D mode on the whole time while walking around the pokemon world? A, it's annoying to keep perfectly still in the right position for that long; B, it probably wouldn't have been that great because they'd either have to rush the 3D-viewing to get it out on time or they'd have to delay the release for it; and C, 3D mode is an energy hog.

The gimmicky 3D? I don't care a bit. Thinks not looking flat? Only care about that in battles. I prefer Gen III's art style but I always wanted Battle Revolution type graphics for the battles.

That's the only way they would get me to buy the 3rd one. Ever since playing games with weather effects in 3D, I can't go back. They usually look really good.

I know in Code of Princess on menus (Where there was no 3D) the light for 3D was disabled. Not sure if that applies to other 3DS games but for that one it did disable the light when it couldn't be used.

Also VC games disable the light, and the Game Gear Emulator has a mode that does support 3D. Using that mode will turn the 3D Light on, and off again when not used.

Then you're not remembering it right or the 3DS/game is screwed up. Every 3DS game I have has the LED turn off when the scene doesn't work with 3D.
