Almost everyone uses sword dance on the first turn with a Garchomp, especially when it's just a cute little Umbreon sitting there on the other side of the field. And then BAM foul play OHKO gone.

Foul Play uses Garchomps attack stat, not Umbreon's.

95BP + STAB equals 137.5BP backed by Garchomp's attack.

Pretty much, I appreciate that Umbreon is UU for a reason. But with the right setup on the right team it can hold it's own in OU fairly well. I love that guy despite there being better options.

A lot of the highest ranking teams might carry an UU Pokemon though. They're not all UU because they're worse than OU, some just fill a certain niche that most teams don't need.

Indeed, it does not genuinely get OHKOed. After entry hazards though, Umbreon still has a good chance to finish it off with one hit.

It's still not bad for a healer.

I know, I had to hack in FOul Play into a calculator whose development got stuck in gen 4 somehow. Ended with the Dark typed Garchomp using a custom 96 BP Dark move against an unmodified Garchomp. It's not like the damage calculation part itself has changed.

If anyone has something more recent, it would be useful.

Yeah, that makes more sense. Would need three layers of spikes for most Garchomps, though. Or a lot of luck, it's not going to consistently OHKO with SR and a +Speed Garchomp.
