Is there any word on whether or not X and Y are going to have a challenge mode?

Are they going to FUCK IT UP by not allowing a person to start a new game on challenge mode with one cart? I was so angry when I found out I couldn't do that I didn't even bother with Black 2's end game and haven't touched a Pokemon game since.

I feel dead inside.
