I've always thought that it made sense. Your pokemon technically overpowered the other one in order for it to be captured. Why does a pokemone have to faint in order to get EXP?

I guess it makes sense, you catch the pokemon and get the EXP you deserve.

I'm just scared the games will get too easy over time.

I think it'll work like this:

>You get EXP depending on how much damage you've inflicted on the Pokemon

So like:
>throw a Pokeball at the Pokemon with full HP
>no EXP

>Throw Pokeball at Pokemon with red HP?
>EXP

Seems like it should be the reverse. The more hp they have the more exp you should get because of "skill".

The most likely case is that you'll get the same amount of EXP you'd get if you had knocked the opponent out.
