This. What many people don't seem to get is that just because a Pokémon's first appearance was in a certain region it doesn't mean he's endemic only to that specific region, this is very much like our own world where you can find wolves pretty much all around the world, but that doesn't mean they're native to your country because that's where you first heard about them.
