Could Pokemon: The Origins be more related to X and Y than we thought?
First of all, it looks like Charizard is Megavolving, it's coming out a few week and a few days before X/Y and, based on the axis (X axis, Y axis and Z axis), the origin is the middle of the axis. Maybe this will link Kanto with Kalos somehow?

I know it's horrible speculation, and probably wrong, but what do you guys think?

Not Necessarily visit it, but maybe characters come from there (Blue, Red, Green etc)

also, there's the Kanto starters in X and Y, and the fact Giovanni has got an updated design for the main anime.

well it is clearly related to XY as the japanes website for the games promotes the special.

my idea is that Red is the first trainer that achieves mega evolution with his pokemon (probably without the mega stones), it serves as a tie in for the games,

he is a legendary trainer after all

The mega bit isn't surprising because they always shove new concepts into old regions. The date bit doesn't matter because it's right when the Fall anime season starts.

I didn't even consider the origin of axis. Kind of cool theory. But I do think it's just going to be a re-telling of Red/Blue. That storyline is more interesting than the anime canon anyway.
