I think if you want to play something from gen 5, you should try Blaze Black 2 or Volt White 2. The Blaze/Volt hacks are really nice and have a lot of small improvements over the official games, not to mention BW2 have improvements over BW1 as well. But I agree with the rest of the anons in this board: wait until after X or Y, so you can ripen your hype and not leave a game partly finished.
