>>13902694Well no, not really. The extra power, even on pokemon with high attack stats really matter, especially if you get a STAB. The "slightly lower power" in a lot of cases is extremely relevant for 2 hitting certain pokemon, which makes it so they can't switch into you safely.
The reason you see stone edge, fire blast, and hydro pump, but not blizzard and thunder over their less powerful counterparts is because they actually have decent accuracy, whereas thunder and blizzard are only 70%. Focus blast honestly only sees use because there is no comparable move with good distribution. Hidden power is too weak to matter and should only ever be used if there are no other move options or you're hitting something for 4x effective. Also, accuracy boosting items are not good.
