I count chained shinies as legit on account of they are a lot of work to catch. But I chain so I guess I have mixed feelings about, once I filled a whole box with Pokemon I had chained they felt less valuable then something you want but can't chain, in my case shiny Drifloon.
Soft resting is definitely okay too but random encounter shinies just have a certain magic to them.

Never because the whole point is that they are super cool and rare and to be cherished. Hacking them just is sad and lessens the value. It's sad that so many people hack Shinys cause it makes it hard to like believe they are real when trading. I only got 5 shiny pokemon but I'm very happy knowing they are all legit and I'll be able to take them to Gen 6 when pokemon box comes out.

I pokegen for multiplayer and accidentally made a few of them shiny.

I have a few legit shinies, a Crobat, a Medicham, an Audino, and a Lilligant.

Also, the people who bitch about hacked shinies are ridiculous. Nobody except those shiny hunter faggots want to sit around for as long as it takes to get a shiny even with the Masuda method.

This right here is the proof there is no difference between a hacked mon and a legit mon, byte-wise. The only thing they can do is check for clones. But even that would flag N's mons, with their common OT and IVs, as hacked.

This. This is what I wish people would understand. Every part of a Pokémon's file is understood. It is entirely possible (and relatively straightforward) to Pokégen a Pokémon identical to a legit one. No hack checker physically possible could tell that it's hacked.
The only way they could change this would be to make the Pokémon files more heavily encrypted, there's no way to do it retroactively.

I honestly don't know why everyone took up the cry of "hahaha the end is nigh for hacker faggots" at the announcement of the legality check with PokeBank. Nintendo ALREADY tries to do this, and they fail at it. Hacked 'Mons are just a reality you have to deal with them. I edit a Pokemon now and then but it never fails to beat the filter it's perfectly possible to make a hacked pokemon that is undetectable and identical compared to a legit pokemon.

Honestly the extent I edit is usually just doing my IVs and EVs so I can battle without dying of OCD anxiety. It's Nintendo's own fault for creating such a shit system for both of these things...you literally can't help but get the wrong EVs all over your bros until the end of the game at which point it's nothing but a retarded grind.

I only RNG. I've been playing since 1998, and the only shiny I've seen in the wild was an unown in generation IV. (I did SR for a chikorita in HG and chained a few pokemon, but let's not count those) Thousands of hours between all my games, and that's all I had to show for it.

Seriously, fuck me for wanting bad gender ratio shiny pokemon. Nintendo clearly doesn't want me to have wild shinies so I just RNG'd my favorites.

Yeah, its totally better resetting my game over and over until I randomly get a palate swap. Resetting my DS for hours and days on end just feels better, you know? Hacking is for tricksters and snakes.

I hack Pokemon just to use them in the battle subway because it's fucking bullshit. Other than that I don't use them anywhere else, but the only one I have hacked into a shiny was Chandelure.

The only shiny Pokemon I have are Manectric, which I got after Masuda methoding over 2000 eggs for a shiny Petilil. I finally got fucking sick of it and switch to Electrike and got it after 9 eggs.

My other shiny is a Mantyke, the only one I've encountered in the wild, and I've been playing since before S/G/C. I don't count the shiny Ivysaur I found in a randomized Emerald rom.

Depends, I make them as legit as possible. If the one I'm hacking looks better as shiny I'll make it shiny,
otherwise I'm just going to make it look regular (in premier ball, because it's the best ball out there)

Also I start my hackmons at level 1. I don't like hacking but I just want those 31 IV's. ;_;
