Why does Iris get such a bad rap?

I was a bit meh about her until her Focus Sash'd Haxorus and Life Orb'd Druddigon kept wrecking me.

In-game she was a big challenge the first few times, which is exactly what I want from the Champion. I don't understand why people think she's objectively the worst at most things.

Iris was easy as shit but what people fail to realize is that she's the only champion who isn't ten levels higher than you when you get there. The only reason the other champions were such a challenge is because they had many levels to buff them but people are still butthurt that Marshal/Cheren isn't the champion so Iris gets an absurd amount of hate.

The presentation of the battle is what did it for me. The flying background, Iris's prebattle animation, and the fucking music was god tier. The music was fucking amazing when in game

The background and everything was spectacular, I agree. The music just didn't evoke a "champion battle" feeling at all, despite that it did evoke her character. Masuda didn't work on the battle music in BW2 so that's why in my opinion a lot of it was sub-par.

Eh, not really. My Pokemon were around Level 50, and Lucario and Sigilyph with Ice moves were more than enough. The Level curve got you pretty strong in BW2.

Nothing is known about the champ (though it might be Alexa imo) but we do know the rivals. The main rival is the other gender character, and the "Bianca" (gets the starter weak to yours) is a delicious brown girl with insect jaw hair called Shauna (pic related). Then there's also Stupid-hair McDanceFat and redhead no-glasses Max who are your friends and are also on a journey but I'm not sure whether they really count as your rivals or not, or if you even get to fight them, you probably do though.
