The front Pokémon sprites have all been updated to resemble how they appear in their then-current Ken Sugimori artwork usually used in promotional images and strategy guides for the Japanese Red and Green, Japanese Blue, and the international Red and Blue, as well as some of them resembling how they appear in the anime.

Worst of all, some of them are legitimately shit. Most people didn't even bother to draw one mildly good. RGB sprites weren't bad per se, but people somehow tried to make their worst.

Out of the new sprites, Feraligatr, Porygon2, Blissey, the whole Deino family, Manaphy, Steelix, and some others are actually good. In the other hand, shit like Stantler, Raikou, Sawsbuck, Ferrothorn, Sawk, Throh, Feebas line, Kyogre, Granbull, Furret ffs... actually need a redraw. In those cases the drawers tried their worst.

Articuno would have been beautiful again.

I'd contest Cloyster, as it was upright in the japanese Red/Green.

Victreebel/Vileplume would have remained thin.

Starmie would have kept the bulk that its stats imply.

Poliwrath would have kept its beautifully dark skin, contrasting with its belly/clear eyes.

I know this is over the limit of DS Pokemon sprites, but I just did this to show how retarded that Japanese Blue/International Red/International Blue Kingler sprite was.

I just took the huge pincer half of B1/W1/B2/W2 Kingler and flipped it and put both huge pincer halves together
