My brother bought his 2 kids 11 DSlites/ dsi's becuase they kept breaking them. No matter how many times Me and him yelled at them, they'd always leave the fucking things open hinged, and laying on the floor/ couch, where they'd be stepped on/ sit on and break.

a NON FOLDING PORTABLE GAME SYSTEM IS THE BIGGEST GODSEND NINTENDO CAN DO FOR LITTLE SHITS, but all muh entitled man children and journalists will only think how it benefits themselves, and not the intended demographic. Nintendo knows their shit, the 2DS is fucking well designed.

Will it stop it from being stepped/ sit on? FUCK NO, but atleast my brother won't have to buy a whole new game system for broken hinges anymore.

I don't see what's wrong with the 2DS. Who gives a fuck about 3D, and as long as you get something to protect the screens nothing is going to happen to them. The only problem might be playing games that use both ABXY and the touch screen.

Is there any info on how long its battery lasts?

the 2DS is just a bad investment for anyone who isn't a kid, it has other flaws besides lack of 3D. the 3DS is going to be relevant for another 5+ years so saving an extra 50 bucks really over an XL isn't worth it. you may as well get the full package

Most others said the 3DS was going to be hacked by then.

He has, and he did. The kids are 5 and 7, and like ALL parents in their 20's, neither of the parents supervise them more then 2 hours a day. The games are basically babysitters while they go out partying all night, and drinking all day. I'm pretty sure the younger one has autism/ Fetal Alcohol syndrome.

Got my 3DS XL a few days ago in preparation... and I gotta say it's pretty fun so far. I honestly didn't think I'd use the internet app at all, but I'm starting to use it more than my laptop.

Also, is it possible to play Sega Genesis games on this thing by downloading the game ROM to an SD card to the 3DS? I really want to play some Genesis Sonic.

Upgraded to the XL. I can't go back to vanilla. The original isn't ergonomic at all and the screens are to small. If you have it and like it its not necessary to upgrade.
