GF produced remakes of gens 1 and 2 as we were unable to trade to current gens. Gen 3 is already able to trade through to current gens.

Remake Diamond and Pearl
Remake FireRed and LeafGreen
Remake Platinum
Remake HeartGold and SoulSilver
Remake Gold and Silver a second time (separate from the HG/SS remake)
Remake Crystal
Remake Red and Green an additional two times
Remake Blue and Yellow (accompanying the 3rd R/G remakes)
6th Gen Pokemon Pinball

Just to make sure there are 4th and 5th gen babbies around before appeasing Hoenn babbies, so they can truly understand.

Only by like a million, and that's only due to time span because R/S counted from 2002-2008 while BW's only counted from 2010-2013

BW still sold 5 million launch year compared to R/S's 3 million.

All Pokemon were available prior to HG/SS release. The people who claim those remakes were done for Pokedex purposes are either lying, or ignorant. The only remakes which were done for Pokedex purposes were FR/LG.

Honestly they were made due to the lack of ability to trade the mons due to being on the GB. I guess Nintendo or GF must have thought they could cash in on the earlier success and did it primarily to allow access to older mons but with the intent of cashing in on it. It still sold but maybe not as well as expected. Given R/S/E sold around 15-16 million and the fact that requires no need to remake it since you can migrate the mons, it is unlikely it will be remade.

I have Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Leaf Green, Fire Red, Diamond, Soul Silver, Heart Gold and Black 2. What games would I need to get to stand a chance of completing the national Pokédex. I think White may be all I need.

Thanks. Luckily, I have a Purloin on Black 2. I've got back into the games a little bit more and I'm trying to find out which Pokémon I need. It's a shame knowing I'll never have legit Deoxys, Mew, Arceus, etc.

Pretty much. I mean how hard was it to remake games that visually were not that impressive to begin with once they had the framework down.

Besides it's been almost 11 years since R/S/E was made. If they did decide to make it, it would take more work than just simple sprites. Recreating the entire world in 3D which could be time spent on another games and it's not like the Hoenn sales are much to rely on either.

No. As I said, I got back into it recently after a friend persuaded me to buy Black 2. The only event Pokémon I have are the shiny Dialga and Palkia. It sucks. I'll never complete a national dex ;_;

Unless we get a MegaSceptile and MegaSwampert there will not be hoenn remakes. GF is many things, but it wouldn't fit its demographic if every kid picks Blaziken for its obvious advantages. It also seems unlikely that they would add any pokemon in remakes, they never have before, so Hoenn 3D is unlikely until confirmed Megas.
