>>13920729Reason #1 is definitely nostalgia. My childhood's in those shitty graphics and overpowered psychic. Nostalgia is a valid reason to want to replay something. After all, it's a feature of the game to me. Sure, it's subjective, but the fact of the matter is that to me, it makes the games fun to play.
Other reasons to play are that I want to go back and see how they've aged, how they rate next to the current games, and just see how far the series has come. Sort of like a museum trip, y'know?
In terms of objective qualities, they're retro, they have glitches to play around with (you know you want to fight Brock with a lvl100 Nidoking), and most of all, they're simpler: 151 pokemon, no genders, no natures, no special/physical split, no Sevii Islands, no long-winded philosophical debates, just me, my bros, and an obnoxious cunt called DICKS.
