No it wouldn't. Charizard isn't viable because its a bad pokemon in addition to Stealth Rock. It'd still be bad otherwise.

The only reason to run Charizard over Moltres is it's a little faster. Moltres can do anything Charizard can except it's not useless in rain with Hurricane sitting in it's movepool.

Also, according to the official site he gets a "significant boost to his Special Attack".

Mega Charizard is a huge improvement, Mega Venusaur seems to be a bulky tank (Thick fat + Defense and Sp.Defense boosts). It's a shame that all Blastoise got was a new ability.
