To be fair, Spritzee becoming a plague doctor flamingo has a bit more credence to it than Litleo becoming a manticore.

Birdlike, classified as "Perfume Pokemon", learns Aromatherapy and has Healer as an ability?

Certainly more evidence than the one thing people looked at for Litleo, which was his tail.

I'm cautiously hopeful for the plague flamingo doctor, but I'm bracing myself for the chance of it not happening.

Don't get me wrong, I can see where the other side is coming from. But When I first saw the thing was the perfume pokemon, I saw that tuft and thought of a perfume bottle bulb. At least do a google search before spouting your ignorance.

While it's true that not all of the "plague doctors" actually worked to helping the sick, others would work more as coroners and thus would where the mask and outfit. They wore that mask because of the miasma theory that it was bad air that caused sickness, and would fill it up with perfumes and hay to help filter the bad air out when they were performing exams or common blood letting in an effort to balance the humors.

I like the plague doctor idea, but goddamn why are all of the mock evolutions so dark? Spritzee's evo, whatever it is, will probably stay a bright pink. I think a leaner flamingo with a more pronounced beak that looks like the stereotypical plague doctor mask would look neat, it doesn't need to be dark at all.

i didn't even know that plague doctors had been in a game recently, but the iconography of the mask has always been pretty pervasive in popular culture, it's one of the traditional masks of the carnival of venice and has even turned up in adventure time.

i don;t care about spritzee, but you're pretty ignorant of history if you think the black death is obscure.
