>>13954655You just said the entire reason I like Yveltal more. As much as I would like to deny it, I like edgy stuff. What I like about Yveltal's design is that it perfectly mixes badassery and edge. About "Muh oblivion, death and destruction", I don't see what the problem is - that's what suits it. If its theme of "destruction" is justified in-game, all the better.
Don't get me wrong, Xerneas is also pretty good, design wise (and arguably has a more exciting typing). But for me, Edginess > Majestic.
But the point is, you have to recognize the fact that edgy pokemon designs is just as necessary as "majestic" ones or "cute" ones. They have to cater to the tastes of many different types of people. You're just not the kind of person Yveltal was designed for.
So yes. Y is trying, but you're just not the kind of person it's trying for.
