She's called that because Lorelei is three syllables, to Prima's two. Lorelei's Japanese name is Kanna, so they changed it so the dub wouldn't be really awkward by inserting a syllable every time her name was said.

I really just want him to keep losing against other trainers. Watching a Raichu pin his pikachu to a rock and deliver a point-blank hyper beam was my favorite moment in recent episodes

Also the kid in the episode has some line which is one of my favorites, "I hate the way she treats me, but I like the way she looks"

I think they said that "Lorelei" was too long, so they used a word that matched better the duration of the pronunciation of her name in japanese (Kanna). That doesn't explain why did they used the word "Prima", though.

Nah, I don't buy that at all. There are countless characters in the show with english names that don't match the sylables of the japanese ones, both ones from the game and anime exclusive.

I remember Prima/Lorelei being high as fuck, that was funny.

Now I want to rewatch it, especially the last battle, since I never saw that.

The last battle is pretty much the only thing I remember about the Orange Islands and it is probably the only time Ash was ever truly a competent trainer.
