Well, he isn't wholly right, but Gengar, Scizor, and Metagross probably will be the go to answers for Fairy types.

As far as dumb shit though:

I think the defensive aspect is much more detrimental to Dragons. The move Outrage is basically dead now, because a fairy switch-in is a 100% kill.

If Outrage works like Thrash on Ghosts is actually makes Fairies a worse counter to it, since it'd cancel the Outrage and give Dragons a free switch.

Not really. Under the current mechanics, Outrage will stop when the fairy switches in, and the dragon won't be confused. What will be better is letting the first Pokemon die, then switching in.

Besides that, Garchomp was better when people used Earthquake anyway. IMO at least.

It is, but so is thrash. And thrash on a Ghost causes the move to end. If you switch in a Fairy the Dragon will just auto cancel outrage without confusion.

Thank you guys on the clarification. I think the mechanic is likely to change the same, making Fairy a less reliable switch-in than previously thought by me. However, if the dragon doesn't have good coverage, you could force a switch and (assuming you have a good read on your opponent) predict their next move.

Every dragon has at least one steel type move, or, they will switch into a steel-type. Likely it will be Metagross or Scizor.

Metagross might finally fall to UU I think. Gaining the Ghost and Dark weaknesses really hurts it, and Scizor is a much better Bullet Puncher. Hoping Metagross gets something to keep him relevant.

We dont know enough to make any serious claims. We dont know how many fairy pokemon there will be, we dont know how strong their moves will be or if they will be well disturbed and we dont even know if there will be any generally strong fairy pokemon. I am assuming they will make some power houses to really show off the new type, but it could be possibly (though i feel unlikely) that no fairies become good enough to reach OU. Unlikely but possible.
