That is pretty much the definition of centralizing and the entire reason stuff gets banned.

Having to carry a specific counter for one, single Pokemon is a very, very bad thing and kills diversity in the metagame. It's why shit like SB Blaziken , Gen. IV Garchomp, Excadrill, etc. were banned. They were so threatening and so little actually countered it 100% of the time you were forced to carry that counter or the Pokemon would fuck your team every match.

Blissey might not be that bad, but if it does get to the point where you HAVE to pack Scizor or Toxicroak and hit it with a ridiculously powerful STAB poison or steel attack, then yeah, it'll probably require a ban if you don't want every single team to have Scizor, Toxicroak, and/or Blissey on it.

and also as a side note, is the new blissey immune to fight? or is it neutral since fairy/normal
Scizor, Lucario, toxicroak, crobat to name a few

And since poison is getting a buff, im positive that there are going to be some new physical poison moves.

Magnezone completely tears SkarmBliss a new one. While it can't beat Blissey, with decent enough prediction, it completely destroys Skarmory, which Blissey can no longer hide behind.

Hell, even Probopass can easily take down Skarmory. Magnet Pull essentially prevent SkarmBliss from being as big of a problem as it was before.

Really, though, any speculation on how this affects the metagame is moot since there's tons of shit we haven't seen yet.

I repeat, -IF- it gets to the point where you have to carry a counter for it or it walls your whole team, it will at least warrant a suspect test.

Blissey being immune to Outrage and no longer being weak to fighting are absolutely game-changing. Crap like Dragonite and Salamence that used to be able to come in and KO or force it out with Outrage can't anymore. The list of actual viable counters is likely smaller, not larger, has half the crap in OU that used to reliably counter it probably won't anymore..

Yes, some random crap down in NU might counter Blissey very well, but if that counter still gets demolished by most of the other stuff in OU it's not going to be a big. If anything, it reinforces the idea that Blissey needs a ban if you have to resort to using an extremely niche NU Pokemon that only counters Blissey in OU and does little else.

Praying for a crit is idiotic and is in no way a reliable way to deal with anything.

Poison won't turn that 3HKO into a 2HKO, so Blissey can still Softboiled and wait until you run out of PP. Also it carries Heal Bell a lot.

Plus, offensive poison and steel types that were once UU/RU may see a huge increase in use because of fairies running around.

I think it's hard to speculate what will happen based on Gen V standards since there's so many game changing aspects this time around. Lest Metagross/Electivire/Haxorus syndrome happens again.

Unless there's a HUGE shift in the metagame and both of these types stop sucking total ass (and I doubt this will happen just because fairies exist, things will just sue fairy moves like ice) Blissey will be much harder to deal with now that you can't chuck a fighting attack at it and watch it die anymore.

No, I haven't played it friend, but going off of its current stats, and current moves available, it doesn't seem like too much a problem.

And also, If I bring an NU poke into the ubers, that wont make it a niche. It would be a solid counter for fairy types, as much as water would be to fire.

Who said anything about ubers? Blissey will be OU, like everything else, when the meta starts.

The point being that ifyou have to resort to using some extremely niche NU Pokemon JUST to counter Blissey because it fucks your team otherwise, it probably needs a suspect test.

Note I'm saying -IF- that is the case. And, right now, Blissey at least looks better than it was before. I don't think you understand how huge a dragon immunity and loss of a fighting weakness are for Blissey in the OU metagame. Anything with a reasonably powerful fighting attack and pretty much every dragon packing Outrage would scare it away, and now they get laughed at. This a huge change.

Like I said before though, in this new generation, poison types wont be a "niche" pokemon. They would be viable (for the most part, hopefully) counters to all fairies.

I do understand how big a dragon immunity and loss of fighting as weakness is. Im just saying that it isnt that big of a deal. Sure it cant wall an outrage anymore, but thats only a few pokes. We dont know if its fairy or fairy/normal. If the ladder, it would get a neutrality to fighting, which means that most powerful fighting stabs could still 2hko it.

I don't think any of you really grasp the horror of the situation among us.
Thinking of any really good physical moves that counter her? Bullet Punch? Poison Jab? Gunk Shot? Gear Grind? Strong Jaw + Poison Fang? And of course, Taunt.
But imagine if someone is packing a bulky fuck like Quagsire specifically JUST to counter these moves, besides think of a team that can nearly perfectly utilize these counters AND work their way around something like Quagsire.

Imagine if Eviolite Chansey is packing something like Defense Curl because I know I know I do as well as Refresh so I don't need to switch out. Most likely, anyone with a brain would take out the Taunter then send in Chansey the Demon Slayer. I mean, you'd probably only pack Taunt on two pokes. And if they're taken out, all hope is lost. Seriously

Because you could slap superpower (120BP) on anything and have a decent shot against Blissey. Now you need STAB or choice items to be able to handle it because Gunk miss has poor distribution and steel moves have low base power and choiced Steel and Poison is terrible on most things.
