Why do you guys keep asking for a Hoenn remake it's idiotic.
"They made remakes of Gen 1, 2, 4 and a New set of Unova games." What some of you guys don't understand if Platinum is remake then so is fucking Emerald. Really just give me reasons with R/S/E remakes to happen. If they do ever happen I bet most of you will bitch about the system changing and everything. I am just tired of this Gen 3 remake Shit /vp/ I just am.

Because it's unlikely that you will be able to transfer Pokes from previous gens to X/Y, making it necessary to have an R/S/E remake to be able to catch them all. Also, if you're this mad, don't buy it.

3DS units don't have GBA slots, Pal Park had that ridiculous 6/day transfer limit, and there's the life span of GBA carts battery-powered memory.

Either remake, or PokeBank compatible, wireless-using Virtual Console versions for R/S/E/FR/LG would be nice.

Nobody considers Platinum or BW2 as remakes. Only FireRed, LeafGreen, Heartgold, and SoulSilver are.

That being said:

1. Remakes are a lot easier to make. They don't require an original storyline or original Pokemon, and because they basically use the game engines of the Pokemon games released in the same generation, they don't require as much effort yet still getting a lot of money.
2. High demand. I doubt people here won't buy them even if they dislike Hoenn, too.
3. There's nothing pointing to them not being released. They weren't released in Generation 5 because it was just a filler until the 3DS came out, hence why it was so short.

Anyways, the point of remakes is not only to release them in a new generation, but to improve on their faults.

The only remakes we've had are of 1st and second gen. Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, and BW2 don't count as "remakes" in the sense most people mean. Example, if there were to be a Hoenn remake in this gen, people would want to be able to explore underwater in glorious 3D. So, no there haven't been remakes of every gen but 3.

That's another thing actually. A lot of people love third gen, but can't stand the lack of a physical/special split. Better graphics, our current battle styles and mechanics, things like that.

GBA games aren't reliant upon the battery for saving. I'm replaying Emerald right now and the battery is dead. The only thing is the clock doesn't work now.

Well no, you don't NEED them. Obviously not FR/LG of course. I'm just saying it'd make things a lot easier. Aside from restricting certain pokemon to seasons, or swarms, or hidden grottos, all stuff that's either random or takes good timing, to get a lot of gen three mons it'd require transfer up (refering to X/Y at least) through two different gens entirely. That's a touch ridiculous.

I support a Hoenn remake for really the only reason I still have an enjoyment for Pokemon: the art.

I loved the music from Hoenn. Enjoyed every piece. It's all amazing. You know what would be awesome? A remake of every single piece, which I would expect to come with a remake of Hoenn.

The map design was probably my favourite as well. A redesign with the new 3D textures would just be awesome.

Well, Yellow and Crystal never received direct remakes so we should assume Emerald won't either and nor will Platinum and BW2. Now:
RS are nearly 11 years old (going by the Japanese release dates). The mechanics in the game are outdated, the graphics are outdated, and GBA games haven't been supported since the DSi which came out in 2008/for five years. RS were the bestselling GBA games with Emerald at number 3 so they definitely aren't unpopular, and as it's a "main series" Pokemon game it's guaranteed to sell millions. You guys who hate Hoenn know deep down you'll buy/(when it becomes possible to) pirate it anyways. Plus, TPCi are bringing back "Gotta catch 'em all" and how are you meant to do that if you can't even access Hoenn? I'm aware they're available in other games though and that you can do a bunch of trading to get them to XY, but what 6 - 10 year old is going to know of GBA games, let alone have them.

If anything they would just do it for the money. It would be a quick and easy money for them.

lol no. I know Hoenn's water routes were shit. There is no denying that. But I spent more time on land in Hoenn than at sea, in fact, it's only purpose after the regis is to dive and get shards. Meanwhile there's a lot going on in the volcanic areas, the desert areas, the area where it rained ash, and the wetland, foresty areas.

Hoenn water routes only have a 1% encounter rate. 1%.
