Probably because XD seems to be about renewing the franchise and at the same time bringing memories back from the very first generation. And what Pokemon is more iconic than the very first legend ever. So overpowered. So cool.

Because the Megalutions are going to root back to genetics (hence the DNA symbol) Mewtwo is the Genetic Pokémon, it makes sense for it to get two Megas.

Let's make new pokemon and then let's add some attacks to Old Pokemon instead
Let's design attacks and abilities that would fit old Pokemon to help them and then let's make a copletly new Pokemon that fit to them too!

Seriously is it this hard for people to understand that the game can easily be themed with two ideas in mind, weather you like it or not there ARE dna helix designs in multiple places throughout the game so far.

Interesting.. Very interesting. I hope these are true.

I like the bit about their choices for Megas. Makes me think that the Pseudos and Starters are all pretty much garunteed Megas, as they're traditionally the most popular of their gen. Hydreigon, especially.. Japan loves that guy.

I also like the bit about Special attacks buffing.. they've always been weaker..

They've been adding new attacks to old Pokémon that suit them since 2nd gen. 4th gen was when they started also making some useless older ones actually useful.

Remember when Dark-type attacks were pure Special and Ghost-type attack were pure Physical before 4th gen? Stuff like Shadow Ball was useless on Gengar, while Sneasel was completely useless due to having a typing that was counter-intuitive with its stat specialty.

I'm trying to put aside personal bias when thinking of the most popular pokemon, I think they would include Starters and Pseudos for sure, then:
Zoroark (Gen V Mascot)
Mew and maybe other pixies (Celebi, et al.) but Mew seems the more popular of them cuz related to Mewtwo
Eeveelutions
Gardevoir
Lati@s
Pikachu
Meowth?
Snorlax
Heracross
Gengar
Alakazam
Scizor
Darmanitan
Porygon Z (for Porygon)
Togekiss
Haxorus?
Golurk?
And then all the box legendaries, Arceus and Genesect.

I'm not sure, just the first ones that came to my mind. Feel free to add or remove more.

They hide the data for Mew's Mega forms in the game's code but it's never made available through legit means.

Ampharos was pretty shit before a mega. Post mega still pretty shit. Mega doesn't meant shit if you don't get a decent new ability and major stat boosts. Blastoise is even worse with with sub par stats and all he gets is the mega launcher ability.

From what it sounds like everybody gets experience, but the ones actually in the battle get full exp. At least that's how I remember it from gen 1.
So basically if you switch them in and out they get full exp regardless.

I said this a few times already, but I'd like it if, among its evolution line, Eevee was the only one to get a mega evolution. Since it's the evolution pokemon, it would make sense. And maybe give it Color Change as an ability to reflect its evolutions.

Literally Porygon 3D is exactly what I am waiting for, I'll be so sad if it doesn't exist.

The Gen 6 Pokemon are cool so far, but I always find myself taking a liking to the oddball Pokemon which are rarely revealed before the game releases.
