>>13977146If you want to discuss opinion, let's bring this out into the light first. This has no bearing on the actual quality of the games, because it's an opinion, but here it goes:
I like HGSS better than Platinum for these reasons:
>Far fewer HMs required for most thingsHell, it's hardly like you ever even NEEDED Rock Climb
>SoundfontI personally thought the soundfont was really nice and soothing. Plenty of bells, more Japanese. Too bad some of the remixes added on a shitty intro, but that only happened to a few tracks.
>Plenty of throwbacks and aesthetic mindingFollowing Pokemon. This is perhaps one of my favorite features in a Pokemon game, ever. It made me feel the most like I was really immersed in a game. I could get absorbed and imagine myself sitting down on a rock after romping through the Ilex forest and my little Quilava would jump on my lap and curl up in a ball. GB sounds was really nice for the more nostalgic fans too.
>Restored KantoIt did more justice to Kanto than GSC did, for sure, so it fixed a mistake that shouldn't have ever had to have been so.
>PokewalkerA long-forgotten feature. I know many people, including myself, enjoyed it, either conceptually or in practice.
>Practical menu and slick touch screenSeriously. The Poketch was pretty nice, most of the time, but having everything just sitting there on the bottom screen, without even pressing the menu button, was really nice and convenient. The auto-run button was also fucking god-tier, in my humble opinion.
And really, the pokemon distribution wasn't terrible, though I see the point that it could have been better.
Also, if you were to into reading comprehension, you'd get that those "opinions" were stated not to actually showcase my thoughts, but to demonstrate that opinion in this thread is somewhat irrelevant.
>>13977182it was pretty damn logical. I don't think anyone can deny it, and I do agree.
