It's just so... ugh. I don't wanna use the word "edgy" but it describes it pretty well. The nose is stupid, it looks exactly like Frogadier but bigger and it looks more like a dino than a frog. Also it somehow managed to take every single brofeel about Froakie and Frogadier out.

it's still quite broish and horned frogs exist, hence the edge in the design. As for the it just got bigger argument, while that is simply a manner of preference, I found it preferable for it to end up like this than changing its appearance for the sake of change and ending up like the abortion that is samurott (an easy example on how to fuck up an evo line)

Also it's Neckfluff looks horrible (which I hate about most fake final evos of Froakie. I was really glad when I saw how it evolved more towards the back with Frogadier and hope this is enough proof that this shit won't be Froakie's final evo)

Only some provisoric fixes with paint but like this it would look much more appealing to me. Still needs to be fixed about that neckbeard and the angry look in his eyes and maybe make the back ends of his end pointier. Then he still looks like a bigger Frogadier, but at least not an bigger edgier Frogadier

everything on this thing coincides with each other:

-Horns (found on certain kinda of toads)
-Overall ninja/rogue motif +claws (based on the legend of Jiraiya the gallant
-dark blue, and spotted (like a poison dart frog)

Probably he took my idea from other thread just for trolling. I pointed some of those things.

The white point in the knee is over the lines, not under the lines, that's strange in an official art.

The eye fits with the previous evolution.

The shading in the arm is not like the shading in the previous art, in this art it follows the form of the arm with irregular borders instead of having an uniform form.

Also, there is too much noise near the borders even considering the quality of the pic.

Wow. The only one you have a point on is the nose the rest is just nearing literal autism or just wrong.
The the little backclaws are cool but anything cool is "lol teh edge xD" now but for such a minor detail like that to actually stand out to you in a non ironic shitposting way as "edgy" is seriously autistic, the nose "wings" look nothing like them and just add detail also approaching maximum autism, and the fluff clearly evolves in the back all the way down to his feet so that's just blatantly wrong.
The horn is retarded but the rest is a beyond an improvement.

Back claws are stupid. Period. The serve no purpose and even regular claws would look stupid on it.

Personally, what bothers me about it is that Dewott has nothing on its head other than a little tuft of hair. If the line had a shell from the start which got progressively bigger, then fine; Samurott's becomes so heavy and so it becomes a quadruped, fine.

I don't dislike Samurott, I just don't think it looks enough like Dewott and Oshawott. If it was another water type (which Unova could do with) I'd love the thing. Not bothered about it's huge as fuck moustache though, that thing looks so dapper.

I don't enjoy the whole 'if it evolves it must become a darker colour' schism, but that's been around forever so it's a bit late for me to complain.

Could go either way. It doesn't really give off a poison feel but neither does the Bulba line.

If you ask me though, dart frogs are pretty damn fitting as part Fighting. Their wrestling is pretty spectacular to watch. Also, I hope a female Froakie final evo would be slightly bigger than the male. It'd be a nice touch.

Not eyebrows. I was thrown off at first, but they are actually elongated bubbles from his nostrils. They appear to be eyebrows at first glance because of the horn protruding from the snout.
Upon closer inspection, you can see how the fake's other eye is stationed just behind and almost running parallel (if viewed from above) to his other eye and that the white "bubble" doesn't match up even in this view point.

Besides, nose bubbles becoming eyebrows would be a tad silly.

I would try to draw/illustrate my point but my tablet is broken for the time being.

I love the thing. I just hate how it doesn't even attempt to be like it's previous evolutions. Gen 5 was an all time low for me in terms of starter design. I picked this starter too because admittedly I like it but it irks me that there are people on this board that call themselves fans that see nothing wrong with the design choices made. An otter with a shell for a weapon--->it becomes more upright, more lanky, still uses shell as weapon--->out of left field,a sealion with a giant conch on it's head and a narwhal horn,oh and it gave up trying to be upright. Also he definitely should have been part fighting but that's a whole other issue.
