I'm curious. Why does America exclusively get to reveal an evolved Pokemon before Japan? Wouldn't we have heard something from Japan by now? Because if they release it worldwide then most people in other parts of the world would be asleep.

America already had Pyroar, Tyrantrum & Aurorus were both known outside of Japan first too. With a global release their actually letting other countries have exclusive reveals first this time around.

Huh that low. Odd this is looking to be the greatest pokemon game in history. Not to mention the commercials they are pumping out. Maybe the US reveals are meant to stimulate hype. I would wait until the last week to see if pre orders go up by a lot though.

I blame overpricing the 3DS and the low sales it has received. The userbase right now is lower than the DS when it was the same age. But they were going to have to move on eventually.

Maybe if they never included that shitty gimmicky 3D the prices would have initially been lower with having to make the monstrosity they call the 2DS. The real slap in the face is them not even USING the 3D we paid for in most of the game other than battles.

3DS sales are not low in any sense of the word.

The 3DS is not very expensive at all, even if you have only a part-time job.

Battles are the MAIN FEATURE of Pokemon games, so they incorporated 3D in the main part of the games, as well as in cutscenes/cinematics, which will be amazing to watch.

They likely even included 3D in the Pokedex since Game Freak confirmed that you will be able to view a Pokemon's 3D model from any angle in the Pokedex, just like the Pokedex 3D Pro app from the eShop.

If you want the info pre pokemon games between the units, the 3DS was ahead by 3 million. If you want to compare right now, the DS was ahead by 13-15 million but that's because Diamond Pearl released by now.

This time we are going to be at probably 34-35 million 3DS sold pre XY release and an International release means everyone gets it at the same time. The unit sales might spike a ridiculous amount.

CoroCoro leaks are pretty much the only reason we've seen many of them in Japanese first, because we saw them before they were officially revealed. There's a few exceptions, and those leaks have messed things up a bit, but generally, they've done a pretty good job of making this feel like an international release and not something that will be released in Japan and then quickly translated for us westerners later. There's a huge worldwide fanbase, continuing to focus solely on Japan would be a huge mistake.
