Can /vp/ take a moment out of the hype/hate for the new reveal and help a fellow trainer out? I'm stuck on the psychic twins Jiz and Taint. I can't beat them. Any tips?

I boxed my starter because I literally never used it. And my tentacruel did surf but it only did like an eighth of Claydols health. Then it 1hits my tentacruel

OP here. I just got two sharpedos. I figured their dark typing would help resist psychic and the rough skin will hurt anything else

You're playing Emerald they have two lvl 41 Pokemon and two lvl 42 Pokemon. You're facing them with 35, 37, 38 and 40, so it's not really a surprise that you lose. How can your Pokemon be so fucking underleveled when you only have four of them? I use teams of five and I'm actually currently playing Emerald on emulator and when I went against Tate & Liza my whole team was at 42. Here are some tips:

First of all, look at your Magneton's coverage. It will probably do very well against Ground, Grass, Electric and Dragon types. Do something about it.

Duskull is shit. Evolve it and it gets shitloads of bulk. When combined with levitate, it's actually useful in the gym.

Get at least one more Pokemon, two if you like grinding (I don't so I use five).

Make sure you eliminate the Claydol as fast as you can since half of your team is weak to Ground and let me tell you that faggot spams EQ as long as it's on the field since all its teammates are immune to it.

Double Surf (both your team members using Surf) is awesome because you don't hit your teammate in Gen 3. That's how I took them down.

I know, i started this up to get some pokemon to transfer over to soulsilver. I already traded a torchic over and got a Mudkip from Steven stone at Silph co. So I picked treeco. It just wasn't that good this play through even though I gave it the most attention.

OP here, don't know if anyone is still here, but my Grovyle is like level 26. I'm gonna train it up a bit just cause Sceptile. What are some moves it should know by level 40? I've never really used him. I don't really know how he's used

Probably, Dusclops has high defenses, but shit HP. I still think its your best shot, unless you're willing to get a Sharpedo.

I just beat them yesterday actually. I wanted to grind some more, so I fished at the beach. The first thing I caught was a lvl. 35 Sharpedo. Basically one shot both of thier pokemon.

i usually run something along the lines of:
leaf blade
giga drain (for healing)
dragon claw/aerial ace (coverage)
another move of your choice

for anyone interested, Sceptile and magneton are tearing assholes left and right. Killed solrock and claydol. Xatu has like two HP left and is paralyzed, and I haven't gotten touched once
