I didn't preorder the game because they are taking some very huge steps in terms of continuation.
The more I look into it, the less it feels like Pokemon and the more it starts to look like abusive marketing schemes.

They are changing entire mechanics, and even breaking some types. I am stopping at gen 5, and no longer can continue.

That's how I felt about Gen 5. After Gen 4 (I really hated this gen for some reason) I decided I wouldn't pick up another Pokemon game. Woops.

They completely got rid of the pokemon sprites, and at that point they start looking like CGI animated garbage. We now have Dress up Trainer Simulator. And we have Pokemon who "evolve" form in mid battle via a special stone, including some legendarys and already powerful pokemon. Making me hate to play pokemon with others even more.

Why do we live in an age where game play doesn't matter as long as we have seizure inducing graphics?

I played all 5 gens up to this point, and I know each one had fair share of weakness, but I can't really see many pros from the cons.

I need the money for other stuff and I'm still kinda butthurt they want you to get a 3DS. Even if I was planning on buying it I wouldn't need to pre-order it because I used to buy the new games on the release date in store and I don't think they were ever out of stock.

GameStop's preorder bonus is just another poster that'll be available on their Rewards page after a certain amount of time and none of my local Targets have the preorder cards (And by extension, the pins) in stock.

Hell, the last Pokemon game I preordered was HGSS.

Define gameplay. They've revamped mechanics every gen, even if just slightly. There are different ways to battle now as well, with horde and air battles and what not.

I'm stoked for it- haven't been so excited about Pokemon since Yellow was coming out, but I haven't pre-ordered. I would've liked to for a chance to get it a day early, but I'm still not completely sure whether I'll be at my parents or my boyfriend's and I'd rather just get it on the day so I can play straight away.

Saying that I still haven't picked up a 3DS, and now I'm trying to decide between a 2DS (most affordable), 3DSXL bundle (with accessories and Fire Emblem) or the Pokemon 3DSXL with some goofy Pokeball cartridge case they're doing.

I don't think stock will be a big concern. When I pre-ordered Black 2, and I changed my mind to White 2 on the day, they had plenty stock of both but had sold out of the White 2 DS cases.

Also, I preordered. There is no reason not to. Doesn't cost more, you get garrunteed the game and you get free stuff. The only reason I wouldn't pre order is if I was a lazy fuck or I didn't want the game till later.

Pokemon games prior to X and Y Had some nice memorable Routes and towns. You always had to travel plenty of ways and you grow accustom to the controls and the places you can go. X and Y, You can completely disregard ledges, walk diagonally, and they added rollerblades as a method of movement.

Also you had to use items strategically, but in X and Y, some emotional crap can cure aliments your pokemon has.

Does anyone know how big Pokemon X and Y are gonna be block-wise?

Is it gonna be around the Animal Crossing/Fire Emblem block-mark?
Animal Crossing being 6k blocks and Fire Emblem 8579 blocks.

I only have 22k blocks left so I'm hoping it's not more than that.

Just keep trying, I was stuck on the dole for 6 months with the same problems, lucked into a temporary job that I didn't even remember applying for which lasted 2 years until they couldn't afford to pay me any more, moved onto another better paying temporary job... Sadly looks like I'm stuck with temporary stuff but actually working and getting decent money is better than not working for shit money.

A shame that I don't know anybody in the town I live in. Online school for my entire high school school year, and now that I'm in college it's like starting all over again.

Not even a single relative lives within 300 miles of me, and to make it worse I live in a town that you can ride your bike across in about 45 minutes. But it's not all bad, found 4 temp agencies I will check out soon

One copy of X or Y is going to take up ~14,000 blocks of space.

So it'll take up some space, but you'll have a little room for other things.

If I may say, Nintendo sells refurbished 3DS' on their website for about ten bucks cheaper than a 2DS. So if you're looking for affordability, I'd recommend that.
