It isn't just two Honedge glued together for no reason, you uneducated chimps. His design is, as has been clarified repeatedly, based on a crest or a coat of arms. Traditionally, the image of two swords crossing and pointed downwards is a symbol of memorial and remembrance for a fallen ally. It's used in coat of arms displays all the time. The back portion of Doubledge makes it reminiscent of a wall-mounted display.
I can almost 100% guarantee you that Doubledge will evolve and further this design, probably with a more exposed backing and a third sword running down the middle, ribbons flowing from it's handle. And it will look boss as fuck, much like Doublade does already.
