It's not a bad ability at all.
Some of the best attacks (Focus Blast, Stone edge) aren't used by some people because they are unreliable as fuck.

It is really crap unless you're using DynamicPunch. Moves like Fire Blast and such simply don't benefit so much. If you rely on such moves you'd rather have another ability.

That clause isn't always active and doesn't even apply when you're doing something like playing online.

There's an item clause for some modes and a no-set-damage clause for little cup, but it's not like you're using either of those in OU.

The clause simply existing doesn't mean shit.

Only because Gen V added Conkeldurr and so many new faitans that he got horribly outclassed.
No Guard Machamp was the best lead back in Gen IV.

the idea of a dedicated lead died with teampeek.

Champ's still good. he's just cant play with the big boys as easily.

If duoblade gets some really good moves with bad acc, he could be a real threat with decent stats.

even with the steel nerfs, 3 immunities ain't bad.

Charizard has an actual moveset and things it can use though. It's only bad once it dies from switching in twice. If you get a spinner, you can possibly pull off a bellyzard, a solar power sweeper, a swords dancer, etc.
It at least has options.

If you're leaving it in on something faster and stronger, your strategy is flawed. Pokemon are good when you make them good. I don't try using Scizor to take out a Ninetales.

No Guard is an awesome ability, it's just a shame there's only two Pokemon that can utilize it very well.
