Some ladies are definitely into it, but I've mostly seen the "the perfect man is ultrabara" idea coming from shows, etc. that are written by men trying to imagine what must be attractive for people who are into men.
I don't mind the occasional bit of bara (especially submissive), but personally, my type's more the runner's or swimmer's kind of build. Bara goes a bit too extreme for me, but YMMV.
