Plus one for Beedrill. It looks so badass, I really want it to be viable but it's just not.

I have the same issue with Persian. Absolutely my favourite Pokemon. It's not a bad scout by any means, but NO-ONE is going to pick it over Ambipom. Fortunately, Persian could at least have another evolution stage at some point. No such luck for Beedrill, unfortunately.

Persian would be bitchi Ambipom pretty much didn't do anything it could better, yeah. Persian gets dark-type coverage by level up but if that's even worth bringing up is a whole another matter.

Mightyena lookcool as fuck, but it simply has NO MOVES and barely stats. Houndoom just shits all over it

If there's an pokemon that deserves Speed Boost, it's Beedrill. It still wouldn't make it really viable, but come the fuck on, it's the second most pointed out ability, flying at high speeds. Fuck Swarm. Nobody likes swarm.

I definitely know that feeling. Been picking grass starters since Gen 1.

Gen 2 was my favorite though. Megs and I were unstoppable. He was a beast in-game. He was my lead and everything he couldn't wreck, he out lasted. Got Heartgold and tore Johto a new one with my bro literally by my side. Taking flamethrowers to the face while Toxic does the work. Ancient Powering a flying type and becoming even tougher in process. Giga Draining everything in his path.

Currently playing Emerald on an emulator and I have a Mightyena in my team with Return, Shadow Ball, Hidden Power Fighting and Roar: works like a charm. I really don't know what else it should have. In the later games you can even replace Shadow Ball with Crunch since it's no longer a special move.

No, I didn't breed for HP Fighting, it was pure luck and exactly what I wanted.

I don't think it's exactly 70 BP but it's around 60 and therefore deals more damage when super effective than a neutral max power Return, making it a useful in-game coverage move. Mightyena was actually my saving grace against Tate & Liza. After withstanding one Earthquake from Claydol, it survived the whole match since the opposing Psychic types dared not to touch it and Mighty just Shadow Ball'd it's way through the whole match.

A Gen III moveset of Return / Shadow Ball / HP Fighting / Filler is completely viable imo at least in-game. In later Gens I really don't see a problem with Return / Crunch / Thunder Fang / Ice Fang. Not everything has to be metagame-level hyper offensive in-game to be useful.

Oh thete is a bunch i could name:
Persian (needs more atttackin power- hope he gets an ancient powe evo like certain gen4 mons.
Fearow - It can't learn brave bird even tho it's described as agressive. Also evo could fix that.
Mightiyena - Shitty stats needs evo with strong jaw.
Luxray is getting a mega but i'll still mention him(why doesn't it learn volt tackle?)
Also the elemental monkeys in gen 5.
I liked the grass one at least but they could have given them something better than gluttony.

Is the only tier where you don't find always the same teams once you hit 1500 rating.
Sure, you some pokes such as golurk and scolipede are more used than others, but is nothing like the other tiers. is also the only tier where I can use a monobug with Beedrill and still have an ok ranking
