Actually, it's so Chespin has STAB against Fennekin's final form, which is part Psychic according to you.
Dark wouldn't help it out against Fire-types.

As of the RPG class basis confirmation I'm thinking the original leak was correct (Fire/Psychic, Water/Dark Grass/Fighting).
If only so Froakie gets STAB on Thief.

Don't know why everyone is so hard bent on this immaculate trinity. I seriously doubt GF would ever let something like that happen. Regardless, I don't give a flying fuck what the types are, I want to see what the final Evos look like.
