Maybe they want the old players not to buy the same card again, but letting the new players to have "Junipers" without having to buy old boosters packs. I dunno

New Pokemon TCG rules:

Pokemon Catcher will now need a coin flip to take effect.
Prof. Juniper and Sycamore Supporters to be treated as the same card. Therefore you can only have 4 as in any combination of both cards.
You can’t attack during turn 1 if first.
These changes will apply since November 8th.

not sure if Pokebeach has posted about it, but seems legit.

Turning Catcher into Reversal will hurt the format since Blastoise and Garbodor are still running amok. Anything that has to rely on coin flips is dumb.

No T1 attack rule is fine.

Reprinting Sycamore as Juniper is fucking dumb. They just could have made him PONT and everything would have been okay.

They have, but they mention that they're not sure if the changes coming to international audiences.

I can see the errata happening when we get XY internationally, but the 1st turn rule change will probably wait until the 2014-2015 season.

They changes are obviously coming outside of Japan too, dah.

The new rules start in Japan on November 8th, the day the XY starter sets come out, so we might get that rullings printed on those decks.

Because of the way pokemon TCG's format goes, there are some staple cards that needs to comeback or the designers want to keep.

Magic the Gathering reprints same cards since they are staple cards that they want to see again in the standard format.

This is another way of doing it. By assigning this card effect to the "professor" of the region.
