It's a way better idea than just having Kangaskhan power-up. Now that it's child can defend itself, it can go-all out and fight with its full strength.

I don't hate on the whole JGB concept when it's executed well (Charizard) but I'd like more mega to be like kangaskhan, exploring different possibilities

plus it reaches its full potential by fighting alongside its offspring: that's cute as fuck
