I'll be honest, I'm completely dissatisfied with the current state of Pokemon.

It just seems like they're pandering to younger kids with increasingly cutesy Pokémon, fluffy storylines where villains have hairbrained PETA inspired schemes and employ a literally autistic main henchman, and the game and anime writers make belabored efforts to appeal to minor race groups by shoehorning ambiguously ethnic characters into the games and anime that aren't even written well.

As much as I'd like to, I find it hard to get excited about a new generation Pokémon series for 3DS that has graphics that wouldn't have been impressive more than a decade ago on Nintendo GameCube, and the main new features seem to be a gimmick virtual pet feature, and a gimmick "mega" evolution feature.

I'm not trolling or starting shit, I'm just trying to understand why the Pokemon fanbase and this baord in particular is so enthusiastic about the new versions while I cant get excited even as I TRY to.
