The store I work at, streetdated items ring up at ridiculous prices until the release date (e.g. a $49.99 game will ring up at $499.99) to prevent exactly this from happening. You need a manager to override it, and no manager will cost the store $300+ just to give someone a game a few days early, on top of the fact that manufacturers can track that shit and can be very strict about it.
I guess maybe not all stores do that, but just don't expect this to work.
