I am curious /vp/. If you lived in the pokemon universe, and had a poke-companion that would follow you until some variable of some sort prevented that from continuing, what would it be and why?

This isn't a matter of strength, or effectiveness towards whatever region you imagine you'd live in Lavender Town though it can if you want. This is a matter of your...soul pokemon, if you will.

Personally, I'd go with a Gengar, preferably female because pokemon, animal, or human, it's not as comfortable to be affectionate with anything male. Yeah, she'd be a giant heat sink that'd potentially steal my soul if I mistreated it, but a Gengar seems like a hoot.
