Are we sure that's the case? They showed it with weird cuts, that I think they wasted a turn mega-evolving.

Also why did Drizzle come out on the next turn and not during the turn where Politoed was sent out?

It was confirmed ages ago that you Mega Evolve and attack in the same turn.

You Mega Evolve at the very start, then your attack abides normal Speed rules.

No, we only know about mega-evolving and attacking at the same turn. We don't know if you mega evolve with priority, since the only time we saw an in-game battle was with a fast mon (Mewtwo).
