I cannot fathom why moot would do this. Splitting this board means redirecting posters to multiple different boards and /vg/ sure as hell can't take all of us.

Yeah, and there's an anime board, and a table top game board too.

There's pokemon toy threads on /toy/ all the time, and people split up discussion on other topics super easy. Trust me when I say it's not hard to branch out.

If the discussion is 100% about those other things, you're likely to even rope in new people to the discussions. If it's going "the game should be x because it's x in the anime!", that would be allowed on /v/,

There's a hell of a lot of hate for pokemon and a good number of threads would just get hate shitstorms.

I don't think you were on /v/ pre-gen 5. The reason there was a ton of hate for pokemon was due to the fact people wouldn't contain discussion to one thread. The hype for the new games caused people to almost literally spam new threads, pushing other gaming stuff off the board. And people would post pokegirls on /h/, the TCG on /tg/, the anime on /a/, etc.

Since then 4chan has added the catalog system, added several pages to /v/, and made it so the post limit in a thread is much higher. There's also /vg/ for generals, which would be the right idea for things that are already generals.

moot is not going to delete the board now when it's the most active its been in forever, but in a year when all the hype dies down, and more inline extensions are added? Makes sense to me.
