I know almost nothing about competitive battling but could someone please tell me what move Vaporeon would do more damage with.

Water Pulse: Power 60 Stab holding Mystic Water or
Ice Beam: Power 95

Vaporeon is pretty specially defensive. Scald has a high burn chance, so if you burn something and cut its attack it becomes even more tankier. And hold Leftovers.

It's really simple
Water pulse = 60
STAB Water pulse = 60 + 30 (50% of 60) so 90
STAB Mystic water Water pulse = 60 + 30 + 18 (20% of 90) so 108

But you should be using surf or hydro Pump along with ice beam and not water pulse, because leftovers is hands down the best item for Vaporeon.

leftovers is the most used, than you have life orb or sashes for sweepers, the occasional lum berry or rocky helmet...

but yeah, vaporeon isn't about doing damage
