No but I was really hoping X/Y if you chose a team where all the pokemon have something in common you'd get some sort of special boost to the type that appears the most.

Well, I only use bipedal Pokémon, the exceptions being Venusaur and Samurott. The quadrupedal ones usually look too much like animals to me.
