Starters for Gold and Silver are Chikorita, Hinoarashi and Waninoko, at least that's what I heard.
Also, I heard that Chikorita is pure Grass type, Hinoarashi is pure Fire type and Waninoko is pure Water type
I wonder if there would be a way to trade your Red/Green/Blue/Yellow Pokemon with your Gold and Silver Pokemon, as long as they are from Red/Green/Blue/Yellow themselves.
I'd give both my nuts for a Squirtle/Waninoko combo.
