First in B/W? Good enough that it got me to first place on smogon.

Overall? That was in Gen 3, and I guess it was average, but I don't really have a way to check, since there was no ladders on Netbattle. It was fun setting up all over these Suicunes and stuff with my Poliwrath, though...(which I also used successfully in every gen since, by the way).

Very. I tried building around Lucario and failed miserably. After like a million billion revamps it turned into something halfway decent though.

My first "competitive" team was on Shoddy Battle. I had no idea what anything was or meant, since I wasn't even that interested in Pokemon at first.
The only game I had ever played was Pokemon Diamond, because lol no childhood, and I always lost when I played against my friends.
The only reason I tried playing online was that I had seen some of the pseudo-competitive PBR stuff on YouTube, and it looked interesting.
Basically I just ended up putting a bunch of random shit together.

I was so goddamn frustrated that my powerful cool-looking Uber pokemon was getting killed in one hit by Ice Beams. They must have been hacking.

I had no idea what IVs or EVs were.

It was fun times all around.

And by okay, I mean that it did well against ubers teams not used well, but any half-decent player wiped the floor with my team.

I really wish I hadn't lost my old NB teams when my HD died.
I watched like a hundred matches before trying to make one but it was still somewhat gimmicky. I think it had a lead Venusaur, DDmence, Counterlax with substitute/focus punch, Swampert, Starmie and Zapdos. The EV distributions and natures were terrible. I ran Zapdos and Starmie full SAtk/speed with modest, they were pretty fucking useless. That Snorlax was a disaster. Pert was the only consistent answer to common threats like Salamence/Metagross/TTar, once he was gone I'd have a really rough time.

Sableye is actually pretty good.

It obviously isn't the epic troll counter to everything some people want it to be, but it's a fairly good spinblocker. Its main selling point over Jellicent is that it can act as an emergency check against just about any physical sweeper thanks to Prankster WoW. Seeing how a lot of stall teams tend to struggle with physical overload this can be worth more than you'd think.

It's still hard as fuck to fit Sableye onto teams and I personally like Jellicent a lot more, but I've seen it work at a fairly high level.
