Could you answer my question of why the Slowpoke family are Psychic-Types? I mean there's Alakazam and Metagross; highly regarded for their mental capabilities, Xatu can see into the future, Starmie can send telepathic signals with their cores. What can Slowpoke do? How does being Psychic-Types benefit them? Why are they Psychic and not pure Water or some other type combination?

We don't know what it's thinking about-quick, write down psychic type.

It looks like their inability to feel immediate pain qualifies it as a Psychic type. Apparently the Psychic type standard raised before the third generation, because Slakoth is still normal type

Pokemon has no basis on reality. They're just made up by a bunch of people in Japan. I know it sounds insane and you might say "What? People couldn't just create imaginary animals." But really that's all it is. I know that for a lot of people with no imagination it might sound like crazy talk but that's what happens. They made him psychic type cause they wanted to. Magic.

because gamefreak were a bunch of retarded drunk guring gen 1.

They mixed up the typing for psyduck and slowpoke.

Also they messed up on butterfry and venomoth, they switched the sprites around.

and the whole thing about ghost types being effective agaist psychic, when the only ghosts around at the time were part poison so they were WEAK to psychics, and the only damaging ghost type moves were the very weak lick and the other only did set damage

I always wondered about that, was it on purpose, or was it a mistake in the games that they couldn't take back at that point?
