No, I also like the game storytelling way better than the manga and the anime. But that do not make them "fanfiction", they are simply different medias. Comparing them to the game is like comparing movies to books: you may like more the story if it is told some specific way, but there's no way to compare it to other form of art because it have different ambitions. I think both the anime and the manga have some great ideas in it and games even used some of those ideas (the plot of Black and White is quite similar to Pokemon Adventures Yellow) and both explore Pokemon in different ways. They're definitely not fanfiction. They don't even look like fanficiton (when did the anime made any fanservice at all? When Ash lost the first league it was a genuinely sad and surprising moment). You have your right to not like them, but calling them fanfiction is so retarded like calling "Lord of the Rings's Peter Jackson trilogy a fanfilm.

it's a bit like having to explain how the main games work at this point so I'll make this very short:
anime: protagonist rarely learns, power resets for no in-universe reason, deus ex machinas
manga: neutral npcs rebranded as terrorists, overpowered original characters, deus ex machinas
