sup dudes

wanting to come back to this glorious game(s), stopped playing after soulsilver, got up to about 3rd gym in black then called it quits

currently only have a regular ds, with a semi broken screen

wanting to buy a new ds for x&y, is the 3ds required? I have about a $260 budget and am in vancouver, will this suffice?

X/Y is a 3DS game, so yes.
2DS will be launched the same day, so you could grab them both, which would cost around 180$ or so

better quality screens, better battery life, better buttons, more comfortable if your hands aren't tiny. IMO the old 3DS is also really ugly

Only price is more convenient. 2ds loses 3D and has lower battery than XL. 2ds has similar battery to regular 3DS

last question:
am here on vacation but will be returning to Australia on the 10th (release date afaik) where the game itself is $20 more, console $40.
if I were to buy an XL here, can it still play the regular old ds games? also I'm 99% sure they can't, but if they can play GBA someone please correct
me

3DS games are region locked, so if you're buying all your games in Australia you'll want to buy one there. DS games will work but I believe DSi enhanced ones are region locked as well, not 100% though

But its bigger and heavier, which is unpractical. All te XL really has over the normal is a longer battery life.

Seemed too bulky to me and the extras didnt seem worth paying more money for. Though i do miss the stylus being on the right.
